2017 Women Travel Latin America Writing Competition

The editorial team at Women Travel Latin America is now accepting submissions for the 2017 Women Travel Latin America Writing Competition.

We are passionate about empowering women to travel. We want to see more women shaking off any fears they may have, packing their bags, and exploring new areas or revisiting the ones that changed their lives in the past.

For the Alone Together Anthology we are looking for engaging, thought-provoking stories or essays that explore the theme of women traveling in Latin America, both alone or together. We want you to give us a fresh perspective, a revised look on the clichéd idea of Latin America being a dangerous region for women travelers.

So share with us what you think: should women travel ‘alone’ in Latin America?

  • Have you traveled alone or with other women?
  • How did you feel traveling through a region that some view as dangerous?
  • What advice do you have for other women who want to travel, alone or together, to discover this fascinating part of the world?

Winning submissions will be published in the 2017 Alone Together anthology in conjunction with the Bogota International Press.

First place prize: US$100
